Areas of Specialty
Men’s Issues
I have a general practice, but I specialize in Men's Issues. Men have traditionally been socialized to suppress emotions and avoid vulnerability, which impairs deep interpersonal connections and often leads to feelings of loneliness and isolation. I help men explore these feelings without judgment while helping them enhance communication skills to facilitate deeper connections with partners and other loved ones.
LGBTQ+ Counseling
As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, providing affirming mental health care that acknowledges, respects, and validates the unique experiences and identities of LGBTQ+ individuals has been my mission throughout my years in practice. I understand from personal experience the challenges that face people in the community due to stigma, discrimination, and societal pressures. I strive to create a safe and supportive space for my clients to explore their identities and address mental health concerns.
Sex Therapy
I believe sex should be one of the great joys in life. However, a significant percentage of people report anxiety, dissatisfaction and frustration in their sex lives. This leads to other negative emotions like guilt and insecurity which can then cast a dark cloud over a relationship. I help couples and individual men process the root of their sexual anxiety and/or shame, explore desires, challenge inhibiting beliefs, and develop the language to communicate openly with their partner(s) to not only enhance physical pleasure, but facilitate deeper emotional intimacy.
When working with men who experience ED or inorgasmia due to a mental or emotional barrier, I usually incorporate hypnosis with traditional talk therapy. https://www.hypnosisalliance.com/imdha/myths.php
